Party Houses / Disruptive Neighbors

In 2014, a group of Durham neighborhood leaders came together to form Durham Neighborhoods United (DNU), a group committed to addressing quality of life issues impacted by "party houses" in our midst, most of them occupied by students and most affiliated with Duke fraternities. Issues include noise, traffic, trash, underage drinking, public urination, and property damage.

Working with Duke and Durham Police, the Duke Dean of Students Office, and City Council members, DNU has developed a protocol for residents to follow in dealing with disruptive party houses. View/download the protocol here.

TLNA is an active participant in this initiative.
